Firing Policy for Work Made Outside the Studio​:

Outside firings available for members only. Any piece that leaves the studio and returns for firing, whether at the greenware or bisque stage, as well as newly made items, will carry an $8 per-piece firing fee.

This helps us maintain fairness for all members and ensures we can run firings efficiently.

All invoices must be paid in advance. A receipt must be shown to the studio technician, who will then take the piece to the firing rack. All inquiries must be sent to hello@clayat.com 

 

Kiln Area Access
Members are not permitted inside the kiln area. The gate will remain closed during open studio hours. Please do not reach past the gate to retrieve or drop off work. If you need assistance, kindly ask the studio technician. This helps us accurately track work and protects everyone’s pieces from being moved or damaged.

 

Cubby Space/ Greenware and Bisque Storage

Members must keep cubbies clean and clear. Please do not store glaze bottles or excess materials in your cubby. You are welcome to bring personal materials with you each visit and take them home afterward. Each member is limited to one cubby with two boards. Please be mindful of how much greenware and bisque you store on the shelves. Work through and clear out pieces regularly to allow space for all members.

 

Clay Recycling
You are welcome to take home your clay scraps after each session to recycle and bring back for personal use, or you may place scraps in our community recycle bucket. Clay scraps cannot be exchanged for new clay or studio-recycled clay.

 

Members receive only one 25 lb bag of clay per month. If an additional bag is needed before your renewal date, extra bags may be purchased for $45 (premium members recieve 10% off clay purchases).

 

Guest Policy
Members may not use a single membership to book sessions for guests. If someone would like to try the studio, we kindly ask that beginners start with an intro class or a 5-week course before joining as a member.

 

Cleanup and Session End Time
Members must begin cleanup 10–15 minutes before the end of their session. A 10-minute grace period is allowed past your scheduled end time. Staying beyond that will result in a fee. This allows our studio techs to take their breaks on time and helps us close the studio smoothly.

How to Get Started:

3. Join Us: The link will automatically direct you to the Clayat invite.

4. Once you've joined, you can:

   • Directly book a spot through our Open Studio calendar

   • Reschedule booked sessions

   • Change your subscription or schedule to cancel.
